Eat like a local
At around 6pm each evening Gili Trawangan’s night market kicks into action, located in front of the boat pier, it’s a not to miss experience for those wanting to taste traditional Sasak and Indonesian favourites.
Catering to both locals and budget travellers, the open air food stalls in the night market are a great place to visit for a cheap eat with a load of mates!
The night market serves up a huge array of locally caught fresh fish and seafood such as red snapper, squid, barracuda, king prawns and lobster, as well as grilled meats, Chinese wok-fries, traditional rice and noodle dishes and more sate than you can feast your eyes on.
Then if you fancy a sweet treat dig into pancakes, banana fritters or locally made cakes, and wash it all down with a cold Bintang!
The night market scene is lively and a great one-stop experience before the infamous Gili T partying.
